Shoes

A note about shoes.... If at all possible, try to find shoes for your actor. We have some, but it's hard to match sizes and styles and (if you've never seen a costume closet) they are not what one could call "bowling alley fresh." We will be as flexible as possible, but please hit up brothers and sisters, check your own closets, and if all else fails try a reasonable shoe store such as Payless, Fmaous Footwear, or Marshall's.

For the basic girls' teen costume: Keds, saddle shoes (someone found a pair for $10 at Marshall's), low-top Converse are ALL FINE.

For boy teens costume: Converse (hi or lo top), plain sneakers such as Keds (i.e., no big Nike logos), penny loafers or similar are ALL FINE.

For adult women costume: low heels, kitten heels, flats, Mary Janes, party shoes (as long as they don't sparkle). Err on the side of being more conservative, as we are doing a 50s theme. Remember there will be dancing and moving around, so if your daughter is not comfortable moving in the shoes, do not send them.

For adult men costumes: plain, dark colored shoes like one might wear to an office, Bar Mitzvah, church, etc. And please send dark socks as well.
